520 PRODUCTS ARE REGISTERED IN 5 MONTHS AS A PART OF INTELLECTUAL RIGHTS PROJECT CARRIED OUT IN BILSEMsAs a part of intellectual rights property projects carried out in Science and Arts Centers (BİLSEMs) by the Ministry of National Education, 520 products were registered in the first five months of 2021. Deputy Minister Özer said during his visit to Tokat BİLSEM that: "We had set a goal of registering 183 patents, useful models, designs and brands of BİLSEMs in 2021. We set our target to register 520 products and we already reached this goal. Due to this reason, we updated our goal of registering 1000 products until the end of 2021."
The Ministry of National Education has been focusing on patent, useful model, design and brand registration as a part of intellectual property rights projects since 2019.
The Ministry has taken steps within this context in vocational education. Research and Development Centers were founded in vocational and technical high schools and total 188 products, 12 of them being patented, 8 useful models, 109 designs and 59 brands were registered in 2020. Recently, the Ministry initiated intellectual property rights projects in Science and Arts Centers (BİLSEMs).
With the support of Turkish Patent and Brand Institution, intellectual and industrial property rights training programs are organized for teachers working in 183 BİLSEMs.
Projects carried out in BİLSEMs gave positive outcomes. BİLSEMs applied for the registration of 1724 products, 101 of them being a patent, 115 useful models, 1460 designs and 8 brands in the first five months of 2021. The Ministry was aiming at registering at least one product of each BİLSEM. 520 products were registered till now and the goal set of 2021 was exceeded in the first five months of the year.

Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer said during his visit to Tokat BİLSEM that the Ministry has been taking important steps about intellectual property rights since 2019 and organized training programs in 81 cities of the country in cooperation with the Turkish Patent and Brand Institution about intellectual rights for school administrators and teachers.
Stressing that they founded an intellectual property rights office in the Ministry in order to maintain coordination of activities carried out in 81 cities and give required support, Özer stated, "We set a goal of registering 183 patents, useful models, designs and brands of BİLSEMs in 2021. We have exceeded our goal and registered 520 products till now. Due to this reason, we updated our goal of registering 1000 products until the end of 2021.
